Les mal-aimants

Living on their late mother’s inheritance, Ysé (20), a young woman suffering from social anxiety, and Simon (29), her narcoleptic brother, are trapped in a relationship of interdependence and lead idle lives without meaning or direction. On her 21st birthday, when she finally gets her share of the inheritance, Ysé learns that there is an additional condition in the will: she must do 25 hours of volunteer work at the Centre Béatrice-Caron, the organization founded by and named after her mother. This burden will force the young woman to confront her anxieties and grief and start to question her lifestyle. Ultimately, she will have to choose between toxic comfort and freedom.
